Booni, March 7, 2026: Officials of the district administration of Upper Chitral fined several shopkeepers for violating government-mandated price lists during a market inspection at Saht Bazar in Mulkhow on Saturday.
The move comes under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Imran Khan, with Additional Assistant Commissioner Azra Bibi leading the inspection.
The officials checked general stores, vegetable vendors and other retail outlets for compliance with official prices, quality standards and hygiene regulations.
Shopkeepers were instructed to prominently display price lists and sell goods at the prescribed rates.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that residents have access to quality food items at fair prices, and stated that such inspections will continue across the district to maintain consumer protection and fair trade practices.
