Postal Service to Upper Chitral Suspended

CHITRAL: Teachers, students and military personnel serving in Upper Chitral have expressed concern over the suspension of postal services in the district, saying important documents have remained stored in sacks for nearly a month.

According to local sources, postal distribution to Upper Chitral has reportedly been suspended following the withholding of funds by the federal government. No mail is being delivered in the area until further orders.

The suspension has caused difficulties for residents, particularly teachers, students and personnel serving in remote areas who rely on postal services to receive important documents and correspondence.

Social and community circles have described the situation as unfair to the people of Upper Chitral and urged the authorities to restore postal services without further delay.

They have also appealed to senior officials of the Pakistan Army to issue necessary directives to the Federal Minister for Communications and other relevant authorities to ensure that the transportation and distribution of mail to Upper Chitral resumes immediately.

Residents said the prolonged suspension could further inconvenience people in the remote district and called for an urgent resolution of the issue.
