BOONI: The Upper Chitral administration has intensified preparations for the upcoming anti-polio campaign, reviewing the training of field teams and directing officials to ensure complete preparedness and strict compliance with prescribed procedures.
In this regard, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Adnan Haider Malooki visited the District Health Office to inspect ongoing training sessions for field staff ahead of the campaign scheduled to begin on September 21.
During the visit, Malooki met the District Health Officer, training staff and trainers and reviewed different aspects of the training process.
The previous polio drive in Upper Chitral was conducted as part of the district’s continued efforts to maintain its polio-free status. Health teams visited households across the area and administered oral polio vaccine drops to eligible children, with authorities stressing close monitoring and community cooperation to ensure maximum coverage.
Malooki directed all team members to thoroughly understand the instructions and procedures provided during training and carry out their field responsibilities with utmost care and responsibility.
He stressed that effective training of field teams was essential for the success of the polio campaign, warning that even a minor mistake or negligence could affect the overall outcome.
He also instructed the relevant authorities to ensure effective monitoring of all teams, timely reporting and achievement of the campaign’s assigned targets.
The administration has strengthened training, supervision and coordination efforts as part of its preparations, particularly given that the last polio case in Chitral was reported in 2016.
