Vote Counting Underway as Early Results Emerge in GB

Gilgit, June 7, 2026 : Vote counting is underway for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections after polling concluded at 5:00 p.m. across the region. Non-official and provisional results have started to emerge from various constituencies.

A total of 403 candidates contested the elections. Voter turnout remained strong throughout the day, with long queues observed at polling stations in many areas.

Early Unofficial Results

GBA-1 Gilgit-I

Out of 80 polling stations, results from 5 stations show Amjad Hussain (Pakistan Peoples Party – PPP) leading with 873 votes, followed by Muhammad Shafiq-ud-Din (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz – PML-N) with 473 votes.

GBA-2 Gilgit-II

Results from 1 of 91 polling stations show Hafeez-ur-Rehman (PML-N) leading with 201 votes, while Jameel Ahmed (PPP) has 191 votes.

GBA-4 Nagar-I

With results from 23 of 53 polling stations counted, Muhammad Ali Akhtar (PPP) is ahead with 2,720 votes, narrowly leading Muhammad Ayub Waziri (Islamic Tehreek Pakistan) with 2,608 votes.

GBA-5 Nagar-II

Results from 5 of 32 polling stations show independent candidate Jahangir Shah leading with 381 votes, followed by Javed Ali Manwa (PML-N) with 292 votes.

GBA-6 Hunza

Out of 88 polling stations, results from 5 stations show independent candidate Nek Nam Karim leading with 364 votes, while independent candidate Raja Nazeem-ul-Amin has 260 votes.

Results from 13 of 31 polling stations place Raja Jalal Hussain Khan (Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party – IPP) in the lead with 1,862 votes, ahead of Syed Tauqeer Mehdi (PPP) with 1,610 votes.

GBA-8 Skardu-II

With results from 4 of 70 polling stations, Imtiaz Haider Khan (PML-N) leads with 488 votes, while Syed Muhammad Ali Shah (PPP) has 461 votes.

Results from 6 of 54 polling stations show Fida Muhammad Nashad (PPP) leading with 967 votes, followed by independent candidate Wazir Muhammad Saleem with 806 votes.

Out of 51 polling stations, results from 5 stations show Mushtaq Hussain (Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan) leading with 457 votes, while Nasir Ali Khan (PPP) has 385 votes.

GBA-11 Kharmang

Results from 5 of 51 polling stations show Iqbal Hassan (PPP) leading with 846 votes, ahead of Syed Mohsin Rizvi (PML-N) with 315 votes.

Out of 71 polling stations, results from 6 stations show Imran Nadeem (PPP) leading with 1,115 votes, followed by Tahir Shigri (PML-N) with 480 votes.

Results from 20 of 57 polling stations place Fahad Hanif (PPP) ahead with 2,130 votes, while Rana Farman Ali (PML-N) has 1,853 votes.

With results from 15 of 51 polling stations, Shams-ul-Haq Lone (IPP) leads with 2,660 votes, followed by Rana Muhammad Farooq (PML-N) with 1,969 votes.
