Islamabad, April 23, 2026: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) remains limited in Pakistan, with only 15% of the population currently using AI tools, according to a recent survey by Gallup Pakistan.

The findings show that despite the rapid global growth of AI technologies, a large majority—around 85% of Pakistanis—are still unfamiliar with tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and DeepSeek.

The survey highlights a significant gap based on education levels. Among less-educated individuals, only 8% reported using AI, whereas usage rises sharply to 52% among those with higher education, indicating a strong link between education and technology adoption.

Age-wise, younger people are leading the trend. Around 26% of individuals under 30 use AI tools, compared to 10% in the 30–39 age group. Usage declines further with age, dropping to 8% among those aged 40–49 and just 7% among people between 50 and 59.

Experts believe that improving digital literacy and expanding access to technology could significantly boost AI adoption in Pakistan. They stress the need for better policy frameworks and training programs to help the country catch up in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
