An appeal from residents of Karimabad valley
We, the residents of Karimabad Valley, Chitral District, would like to draw attention of the concerned authorities towards a pressing concern that has been plaguing our community for over a decade.
In 2010, a devastating flood swept away the bridge connecting our valley to the rest of the district, leaving us isolated and disconnected. Despite numerous requests and pleas to the concerned authorities, the Communication and Works (C&W) Department has failed to complete the reconstruction of the bridge.
The absence of this critical infrastructure has severely impacted the daily lives of over 40,000 residents, hindering our access to essential services, markets, and social facilities.
The lack of connectivity has also affected our economic well-being, as we struggle to transport goods and services across the valley. The situation is dire, and we urge the KP government to take immediate action to address this issue.
We have submitted multiple requests to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chitral and other concerned authorities, but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. The inaction and negligence of the responsible departments have led to unnecessary delays, further exacerbating our suffering. We request the KP government to intervene and ensure the timely completion of the Shoghore Bridge construction.
We appeal to the higher authorities to take notice of this critical issue and allocate necessary resources to complete the project. We believe that the revival of this project will not only improve our quality of life but also boost the local economy.
