Killers of taxi driver, helper arrested after 22 years

GILGIT: Two persons who allegedly killed a taxi driver and his helper in Chitral and took away their jeep over 22 years back were at last arrested by Gilgit-Baltistan police.

The accused identified as Shahzeb, son of Mansoor Khan, and Aleemullah, son of Shireen Khan, residents of Sikwar, escaped arrest despite raids conducted by the Chitral police in coordination with their counterparts in GB. The arrests were made by Counter-Terrorism Department of the GB police during a raid. 

The two persons had hired the jeep and after crossing Laspur killed the driver and his helper in Shandur areas and escaped into GB along with the vehicle in the year 2002. The sessions court in Chitral had already declared the two accused as proclaimed offenders.
