MDCAT to be retaken in Sindh on Nov 19
KARACHI: The test for admission to medical and dental colleges in Sindh will be retaken on November 19, it emerged on Sunday.
The Down Medical University will hold the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) for admission to public sector medical and dental colleges in the province.
The test was earlier conducted on September 10, but it was cancelled due to reports of cheating through a gang using blue tooth devices. MDCAT is taken every year across the four provinces by respective medical universities. Hundreds of thousands of students sit the test for admission to medical and dental colleges in public and private sectors.
The test will be held at the Karachi Expo Centre in which thousands of students are expected to appear.
It has been decided that parents of the candidates will not be allowed entry on the premises. Students found carrying mobile phones, blue tooth or any other devices would be punished by cancelling their paper.
It may be mentioned here that the health department of Khyber Pakthunkhwa has also cancelled the test and blacklisted over 200 students from appearing in MDCAT for two years. These students were caught using blue tooth in collusion with members of a gang to cheat in the exam.
The decision was taken by the Khyber Medical University Peshawar on the basis of reports that these students were caught cheating in the test on Sept 10 this year.
