PTI says its govt will oversee uplift projects in Chitral
DROSH, May 25: The provincial government led by Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will not leave the fate of development projects in Chitral at the mercy of corrupt contractors and political vested interest groups and the party itself will oversee the works at the union council level.
This was stated by Sajjad Ahmed Khan, the vice-president of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in a press release after meeting the chief minister-elect Pervez Khattak in Peshawar.
He said all projects which were abandoned midway, including the bypass road in Chitral, would be completed on a priority basis. If any work has been delayed or money misused, the contractor concerned would be blacklisted. Besides, work on the Lowai, Attahk and Singur water channel projects would be launched on a priority basis. The Drsoh Sheshi power house will be handed over to SHYDO while the powerhouse at Chitral town will be upgraded soon.
The presidents of the PTI’s union council chapters will be asked to submit reports about the development projects at their UC level. He said that soon after taking oath, the chief minister and ministers will be visiting Chitral areas to assess the need of the people of the area. Sajjad Ahmed also said that sports facilities would also be provided to the youth of Chitral.—Jahan Zeb Khan]]>
Good news, but the taste of the pudding is in its eating, right? Soon after Pervez Khattak takes over as the CM of KPK, it will dawn upon the Chiralis how the PTI government deals with Ghulam Mohammad, the contractor/legislator.
