Closer community-police link stressed

CHITRAL, May 25: The manager operation of Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE) Roohullah Khan has said that there was a need to bring the community and the police close together by establishing a proper liaison between them. policeAddressing the quarterly meeting of community empower roundtable (CERT) at district bar room here on Saturday, he said public safety commissions had been set up at the union council level by DTCE and the local community was sensitized to interact with police about the public grievances. He said the DTCE had engaged the active support of the bar and the press in this regard by providing them with required resources while it also providing resources to the local police at police station levels. Mr. Khan stressed on the civil society organizations to help the DTCE to help it render the police a people-friendly force by abridging the wide gap between them.
