Upper Chitral, home to around 250,000 people, faces serious connectivity challenges due to its remote location. To address this, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plans to upgrade and revamp the existing road network, ensuring better communication and transport facilities for residents.
A well-designed road system will facilitate the movement of people and goods, improve inter-provincial links, and increase the efficiency of the existing network.
The project will provide all-weather metaled roads that meet international standards, making travel safer and more reliable for communities in Mastuj and Broghil valleys.
After a detailed discussion, the forum approved the PC-II at a cost of Rs. 150 million. The chair directed the Communication and Works (C&W) Department to stay vigilant during the feasibility and design stages and to involve consultants to prevent faulty designs in the future.
The feasibility study will assess the technical and economic viability of the Mastuj–Broghil Road and lay the groundwork for its future execution.
