Chitral, July 20, 2026: Recent heavy rainfall triggered flooding in Tangel village of Shishi Koh Valley, causing damage to roads and other public infrastructure.
Following the incident, teams from the district administration, Rescue 1122, Levies, police and other relevant line departments were immediately dispatched to the affected area. Emergency response, rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations are currently underway to assist affected residents and restore essential services.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and assessing the extent of the damage while coordinating efforts to ensure timely relief and recovery.
Officials here said that all rivers and streams across Chitral were on high flood due to melting of glaciers and an alert ahd already been issued about heavy rain and possible flooding.
