BOONI: The annual Shaqlasht Festival in Khot Upper Chitral concluded, drawing large crowds and celebrating local sports and culture.
Held every year in the scenic Shaqlasht grounds of Torkhow, the festival featured competitions in cricket, volleyball and football. Teams from across Upper Chitral participated in the event, showcasing local talent and fostering friendly rivalry.
Spectators from nearby villages gathered to watch the matches, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. Organizers noted that such events help strengthen community bonds and encourage youth participation in healthy activities.
During the festival, Rescue 1122 Upper Chitral provided essential medical coverage. Under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Zafaruddin, a dedicated medical team was present on-site to deliver first aid and emergency services to players and spectators as needed.
Local leaders and residents praised the successful organization of the festival and expressed hope that such traditional sporting events will continue to promote unity and cultural heritage in Upper Chitral.
