Booni, April 20, 2026: A youth management and awareness session was held here under the joint arrangement of the district administration Upper Chitral and the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The session focused on youth and women empowerment, skill development and raising awareness on social and environmental issues.
Planning Officer Shamsher Ali Khan attended the event as chief guest. Officials from the Youth Office, Aga Khan Development Network institutions, and health professionals also participated in the session.
Speaking on the occasion, Youth Office focal person Inayatur Rehman briefed participants about ongoing initiatives of the department, including interest-free loans, vocational training and skill development programmes for youth and women.
Psychologist Shazia Bano spoke on child upbringing and parenting, highlighting approaches for positive behavioural development in children.
Training Officer Zahir Ali discussed the impacts of climate change, terming it a growing challenge, and urged participants to avoid burning waste in open areas and promote tree plantation.
Planning Officer Shamsher Ali Khan said the district administration was working with relevant departments to promote youth engagement and skill-building activities in the district. He said citizens could approach the deputy commissioner’s office with their concerns.
