Lng shipment from abroad stops following US-Iran war.

No LNG Supply in Pakistan from April 14

Islamabad, March 16, 2026: Government officials on Monday warned that liquefied natural gas (LNG) will no longer be available in Pakistan after April 14.
They explained that two LNG cargoes per month had already been delayed this year, and supply from Qatar completely stopped on March 2. Of the eight cargoes expected in March, only two arrived, while six cargoes were scheduled for April.

Additionally, Sui Southern Gas has reduced gas supply to a fertilizer plant by 50%.
The officials added that gas supply to the power sector has dropped from 300 MMCFD to 130 MMCFD.

Priority will be given to domestic consumers, meaning power sector requirements may not be fully met in April. To compensate, officials said LNG could be purchased from Azerbaijan at a higher cost of $24 per unit, compared to $9 per unit from Qatar, which would result in more expensive electricity generation.
