Cheques Distributed Among Chitral VCCs Under Ibex Trophy Hunting Program

PESHAWAR: A cheque distribution ceremony under the Ibex Trophy Hunting Programme was held at the wildlife head office here Peshawar, with representatives of various Village Conservation Committees (VCCs) from Chitral receiving cheques.

Additional Secretary (Admin), Climate Change, Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department, Habib ul Hassan Gillani, was the chief guest and distributed the cheques among representatives of the VCCs.

Chief Conservator Wildlife Dr Mohsin Farooque briefed participants on the significance of the Ibex Trophy Hunting Programme, wildlife protection and the role of local communities in conservation efforts.

Officials said the initiative reflects the government and Wildlife Department’s commitment to community-based conservation, sustainable wildlife management and the socio-economic development of local communities.

The programme seeks to ensure that revenue generated through trophy hunting contributes to wildlife conservation, habitat protection and community development in Chitral.
