Residents told to resolve water dispute in a week
CHITRAL: The local administration on Wednesday directed residents of two localities in Chitral town to resolve their dispute over a water supply pipeline in one week.
The direction was issued by Assistant Commissioner Saqlain Salim to residents of Xang Bazar and Muldeh.
The dispute has lingered for long and on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Hassan Abid, the AC visited the area and met the two sides.
However, after the issue could not be resolved, the two sides were called to the office of the AC but there too none of the sides moved back from their respective stance.
The AC told them that water is a state property and no one could be deprived of its utilization.
He also directed the town municipal officer to visit the area and ensure water supply was not stopped to anyone.
The locals were told to resolve the matter in a week and submit a report to the DC office.–Bashir Hussain Azad
