BOONI: Police have registered a case against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Deputy Speaker Suriya Bibi for allegedly refusing to return an official vehicle following the imposition of emergency and governor’s rule in the province.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) dated October 12, 2026, obtained by ChitralToday, the case was registered under Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the deputy commissioner of Upper Chitral.

In his complaint, Arshad Khan, the deputy commissioner, asked the police to lodge FIR against “theft of vehicle A-1292”.

The complainant stated that the vehicle belonged to the Upper Chitral district administration and had been with the deputy speaker.

Suriya Bibi was elected on a PTI ticket from the provincial assembly seat of PK-1 Upper Chitral in the 2024 elections. She was then made the deputy speaker of the assembly by the PTI leadership.

The provincial government was removed following the imposition of emergency on October 11, 2026. Suriya Bibi’s whereabouts have reportedly remained unknown since then.
