DROSH: A Mazda driver was killed and three people were injured in a collision between a Mazda vehicle and a truck loaded with steel bars inside the small Lowari Tunnel.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred at around 5pm when the Chitral-bound Mazda rammed into the rear of the truck travelling ahead of it. The Mazda driver died at the scene, while three other persons sustained injuries.
Two of the injured were shifted to Drosh Hospital, while the third was taken to Dir for treatment.
Initial information suggests that two of the injured belong to Baradam, while the deceased driver was reportedly from Dir.
A few weeks ago, the then deputy commissioner of Lower Chitral was injured and hospitalized in Dir after his vehicle hit a truck while overtaking inside the tunnel.
