Chitral, March 30, 2026: Work on the much-awaited Daanish School project in Chitral is set to begin this week, marking a significant step forward in the implementation of this key national initiative.
According to local sources, the contractor’s team has already reached the project site, while Project Director Dr. Aruna Prakash is actively overseeing the preparations. In addition, the necessary staff of the consultant firm, AMC Engineering Services, has also arrived in Chitral, and all arrangements for the formal inauguration of the project have been finalized.
The official inauguration of the project is expected to take place later this week.
In this regard, local leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), including Muhammad Kausar Chughtai, Niaz A. Niazi, Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed, and Zahid Zain, held a detailed meeting with Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Rao Hashim Azeem.
During the meeting, progress on the project and administrative matters were discussed.
The deputy commissioner assured the delegation that the district administration would extend full support to ensure the timely completion of the project.
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had announced the establishment of the Daanish School in Syedabad, Chitral, in October last year. The project is estimated to cost around Rs3 billion and is expected to become a major milestone in promoting quality education in the region.
PML-N Chitral spokesperson Niaz A. Niazi Advocate welcomed the development, stating that the establishment of the Daanish School would significantly enhance educational opportunities for the students of Chitral.
