Aga Khan’s Horse Wins Dubai Sheema Classic

Dubai, March 30, 2026: A horse from Aga Khan Studs has achieved a spectacular triumph on the international stage in Dubai.

Trained by Frances-Henri Graffard, the horse claimed victory in the prestigious Longines Dubai Sheema Classic (G1) at Meydan Racecourse, taking home a prize of $6 million.

Under the expert guidance of jockey Mickael Barzalona, the horse delivered a breathtaking late surge, clinching the win by three-quarters of a length in a thrilling finish.

Princess Zahra Aga Khan, present at the race, described the performance as “terrifying yet magnificent,” highlighting the horse’s remarkable display of speed and determination.

This victory marks the horse’s fifth Group One triumph, including monumental successes such as the 2025 Japan Cup, further solidifying its status as one of the world’s elite racehorses.

The total prize money for the Dubai World Cup amounted to $30.5 million, underscoring the event’s stature on the global racing calendar.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, personally congratulated the organizers for executing a highly successful event, calling it a landmark achievement in the sporting history of the United Arab Emirates.
