ANP Seeks Separate Accommodation for Arandu Displaced Families

Peshawar, March 4, 2026: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Senator Aimal Wali Khan has called upon the government to immediately provide separate accommodation for men and women from Arandu displaced due to recent cross-border tensions and military operations.

He said the current arrangement, where men and women are forced to share two college halls in Darosh, is inappropriate and fails to meet basic humanitarian standards.

Senator Khan also urged the government to ensure food, medical care, and security for the displaced families.

Residents of Arandu and surrounding villages have been forced to leave their homes, and camps have been set up for them by the district administration in Drosh.

According to the ANP chief, the displaced families are facing severe difficulties, including lack of essential facilities and medical assistance.

While ANP Lower Chitral and the Khudai Khidmatgar Organisation have been providing some support from limited resources, the ANP chief described these efforts as insufficient given the scale of the crisis.
He also criticized both provincial and federal authorities for failing to announce adequate relief measures and urged them to rise above political considerations, especially with the holy month of Ramazan underway.

“It is the responsibility of the state to stand by its citizens in difficult times and ensure protection of their lives and property,” he added.
