Arandu Residents Shifted to Safer Places Amid Border Tensions

So far, approximately 275 affected individuals have been shifted to a camp in Drosh, with capacity and resources being expanded further as required.

Drosh, March 2, 2026: Amid ongoing Pak-Afghan tensions and reported firing incidents in the border area of Arandu, local residents have been shifted to Drosh as a precautionary measure.
According to official sources, the district administration established a relief camp at Elementary College Drosh to provide immediate assistance and temporary rehabilitation to the affected families.

The camp is equipped with accommodation facilities, quality meals, clean drinking water, medical aid, and other essential services. In view of the holy month of Ramazan, arrangements for Sehri and Iftar have also been ensured.

So far, approximately 275 affected individuals have been shifted to the camp, with capacity and resources being expanded further as required.

Transport facilities have been arranged for the safe and timely relocation of displaced persons, while ambulance services remain on high alert to provide emergency medical assistance. Heavy machinery has been deployed in the affected areas of Arandu Gol to restore connectivity and rehabilitate damaged link roads to help normalize daily life as soon as possible.Disytrict administration officials visited the camp and reviewed the arrangements.

Personnel of Lower Chitral police, including female constables, are also participating in relief efforts. Police officials have been assisting in the safe evacuation of residents, with special arrangements made for women and children to ensure their protection and comfort.
