ABBOTTABAD, Dec 8, 2025: The dead body of Dr. Warda, who went missing on Dec 4, was found at Lari Banota area of Abbottabad on Monday.

According to District Police Officer Haroon Rashid, three suspects, including Dr. Warda’s friend and her husband, have been arrested. A fourth suspect remains at large with efforts underway to apprehend them.

DPO Rashid confirmed that Dr. Warda had been strangled to death at an under-construction house of the accused couple in Abbottabad and her body was buried in a forest area near Thandyani.

He added that Dr. Warda had kept 67 tola of gold with her friend two years ago when she was going to Dubai. When she returned to Pakistan about three months ago, the friend and her husband had kept the gold with a bank and obtained a loan of Rs5 million to support their business which was in losses.

Despite repeated requests, they did not return the gold on different pretexts. He said Dr. Warda had left the hospital on December 4 along with her friend in a car after the latter promised to return the gold, and disappeared.

After failing to contact his daughter, the father of the doctor, a retired air force employee, approached the police and lodged a kidnapping case.

The deceased was mother of two children and lived with her father and a brother while her husband works in Korea.

Meanwhile, after protests over Dr. Warda’s murder by her colleagues at the hospital and other people, negotiations between the demonstrators and the district administration were held, leading to doctors calling off their strike.
