ISLAMABAD, Dec 5, 2025: Farzana Naek, Chairperson of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), celebrated the vital role of volunteers during a ceremony at PRCS headquarters on Friday, marking International Volunteer Day under the theme “Every Contribution Matters.”
Naek emphasized that volunteers are integral to PRCS operations, particularly in disaster response, community outreach, and health initiatives. She encouraged youth to engage in voluntary service and honor humanitarian heroes who have sacrificed their lives for others.
Secretary General Muhammad Abaidullah Khan praised PRCS volunteers for their commitment, noting their key role in responding to floods and emergencies in Pakistan. He also highlighted the organization’s mentorship programs aimed at equipping young volunteers with essential skills.
IFRC’s Head of Delegation, Farid Abdulqadir, paid tribute to volunteers worldwide, while Asif Aman from the German Red Cross encouraged broader community involvement in voluntary service.
The ceremony featured a march-past by cadets and a stage play on the humanitarian legacy of the Red Cross Movement. It concluded with the presentation of shields to outstanding volunteers and a cake-cutting ceremony.
