CHITRAL, Nov 28, 2025: In his Friday sermon today, the Khateeb of Shahi Masjid Chitral Khaliquz Zaman urged young people to firmly distance themselves from drug use, warning that narcotics severely damage health, disrupt education, destroy careers and strain family ties.
He reminded the congregation that both the Holy Quran and the Sunnah strongly prohibit all intoxicants, calling on parents and teachers to guide the youth towards a positive and purposeful lifestyle.
“Young people are a blessing from Allah. Do not waste your life on destructive habits. Engage in education, sports and beneficial activities that enrich your future,” he advised.
The Khateeb praised the deputy commissioner of Chitral for arranging successful rehabilitation for several drug-addicted youths, who have now returned home fully recovered and repentant. He described the initiative as a vital step toward protecting Chitral’s younger generation.
He also appealed to those involved in drug trafficking to abandon their harmful trade and stop destroying the youth of Chitral. Additionally, he urged local TikTok content creators, especially young girls, to be mindful of cultural and traditional values and to avoid actions that may harm Chitrali identity.
