CHITRAL: A philanthropic organization has announced the donation of two dialysis machines for Lower Chitral
The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lower Chitral Rao Hashim Azam at the DC office. Officials from the district administration and the health department were also present.
The organization will not only supply the dialysis machines but will also provide a medical expert to oversee their installation and train hospital staff to ensure safe and proper use. This move is expected to make a lasting impact on healthcare delivery in the region.
After careful consultation, it was decided that THQ Drosh would be the most suitable location for the machines, as it serves a large population from remote areas of Lower Chitral.
Currently, there are no dialysis facilities available in Drosh, forcing kidney patients to travel to cities like Peshawar for treatment, an exhausting and expensive journey for many families.
The stated that the installation of dialysis machines in Drosh will provide patients with essential treatment closer to home, easing their financial and physical burden.
He added that the initiative reflects strong cooperation between the government and the non-profit sector to improve healthcare access in underserved areas.
This development is expected to significantly enhance the quality of medical care in the region and improve the lives of patients suffering from kidney disease.
It also sets a positive example of how public-private partnerships can support vital healthcare needs in remote parts of Pakistan.
