Four persons from Kohistan kill man in Gohkir

MULKHOW: Four persons from Kohistan have murdered a man in Gohkir village of Upper Chitral and escaped, according to the area police.

The SHO of Mulkhow police alerted through the police control room the police in Harchin, Mastuj, Booni, Koghuzi and Ashiret about the incident and seeking help to arrest the killers.

According to the police, Muhammad Zahid, a resident of Kohistan district, along with his three accomplices reached Gohkir Bindugol in Mulkhow and murdered Rehmatullah, his father-in-law, at his house and escaped.

According to locals, Rehmatullah’s daughter was given in marriage to Zahid, the Kohistani man, but she was not happy and had refused to go back with him and was seeking Khula.

The Kohistani man along with his three accomplices reached the house of Rehmatullah, called him out and shot him dead and escaped.

Marriages of Chitrali women outside the valley have often ended up in murder or torture of the women.

But still Chitralis fall in trap of agents and give their daughters in marriage to strangers from down districts.

Four years ago, hired assassins from Kohistan also killed a youth along with his pregnant wife in Garam Chashma.
