Chitral Lower received highest number of foreign tourists in KP

PESHAWAR: The district of Chitral Lower received the highest number of foreign tourists in Khyber Pakthunkhwa in the year 2023.

According to the Khyber Pakthunkhwa Tourism Department, a total of 1,624 foreign tourists visited Chitral Lower, which was the highest in the province.

Overall, 591,330 tourists visited Chitral Lower and only 38,771 tourists visited Upper Chitral.

Upper Chitral received 791, Dir Lower and Upper 717, Galiyat 237, Malamjabba 588 and Naran Kaghan 897 foreign tourists during the year. 

According to the report, from January 1 to January 26, 2023, a total of 16,988,946 tourists visited the province. The number of foreign tourist arrivals in the province was 4,554. 

The highest number of tourists visited Galiyat which received over 6,348,000 visitors.

It may be mentioned here that according to a latest UN report, Pakistan remained one of the best destinations for foreign tourists in the outgoing year.
