Pre-Shandur polo tournament begins

CHITRAL: A polo tournament to warm up the teams and players for the forthcoming annual Shandur polo festival to be held in July has started. 

Shandur polo. On the first day of the tournament at polo ground here on Saturday, four matches were played. The first match was between Chitral A and Kosht Red in which the former won. In the second match, Chitral Scouts A trounced the University of Chitral by 15:2 goals.

The third match was between the Headquarters Chitral Green and the team of Upper Chitral district administration in which the Greens were victorious with 10: one.

In the fourth encounter, Injigan Lotkoh A defeated the Subdivision by scoring four goals against none by the subdivision.

Players showing top performance in the tournament will be selected for the Chitral teams taking part in the annual Shandur polo festival, said the district administration of Lower Chitral. Last year, the three-day annual festival in Shandur had started on July 1.
