Army interested in promotion of tourism in Chitral

DROSH: Chitral Scouts has decided to work for promotion of tourism in Chitral in collaboration with all stakeholders in order to open up new vestas of progress and development in the scenic valley.

In this regard, Wing Commander Lt Col Qaiser Raza chaired a meeting here which was also attended by representatives of the tourism department, the district administration and police.

Addressing the participants, Col Raza said Pakistan Army was assisting the area people in all walks of life and also desired to play its role in exploiting the tourism potential of the valley.

He added that higher authorities of the army were taking keen interest in promotion of tourism in Chitral, adding tourism had emerged as an important industry the world over and we should join hands to reap benefits from the potential available in Chitral.

He said the army was ready to provide all-out support to related departments for promotion of tourism. 

Col Raza stressed the need for the stakeholders to join hands and formulate a plan to promote tourism by resolving all issues hindering the sector and take advantage of the emerging opportunities.

A representative from the tourism department briefed the meeting about steps taken for the promotion of tourism in Chitral and issues being faced by tourists visiting the valley.
