Driver missing after vehicle falls into river

CHITRAL: A vehicle coming to the Chitral town from Seenlasht fell into the river near the DC park on Monday evening, local people told ChitralToday.

They said three persons, including the driver, were onboard the taxi ghogai when it met with the accident while negotiating a turn at Mashangol near the DC park.

The two passengers were rescued by onlookers but the driver was missing.

The driver has been identified as Nasir, the only son of Qayyum, a resident of Seenlasht

One of the two others was identified as Abdul Ahad, son of Gulzar of Seenlasht. Rescue 1122 staff retrieved the vehicle from the river and launched a search for the driver.

However, the Chitral police on Tuesday clarified that the vehicle was being driven by Abdullah and there was one other person identified as Abdul Ahad and they both were injured in the incident. There wad no third person with them, it added.-Bashir Hussain Azad
