Arkari valley cut-off, people stranded after avalanche

CHITRAL: The Arkari valley of Lower Chitral remains cut-off since huge avalanches buried the narrow road to the area a few days ago.

As no help is coming from the government or any other agency, people remained in the valley and facing shortage of essential supplies.

The whole Arkari valley has no healthcare centre and the patients are also unable to get medical assistance, local people told ChitralToday on phone.

There are also reports about falling of rocks and boulders from mountains into the villages.

The local people appealed to the district administration and emergency service providers to help them get the only road to their area cleared on an emergency basis.
