ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a man from Skardu accused of producing and selling sexually abusive videos of his own young children.
Speaking to the media, NCCIA Additional Director Muhammad Shoaib Khan said the children were reportedly between five and six years old. He described the case as unprecedented in its severity in Pakistan’s history.
According to NCCIA official, the suspect belonged to Skardu and was allegedly part of a wider network targeting children aged between six and 15. The explicit material was reportedly sold through the messaging platform Telegram.
Investigators also uncovered evidence relating to videos depicting animal abuse and sexual abuse, the official said, indicating that the network’s activities extended beyond the exploitation of children.
Khan said the investigation continued for approximately one month with cooperation from international partners. Further inquiries are underway in Multan, Islamabad and parts of southern Punjab to identify other individuals involved and establish the full extent of the network.
The agency also announced plans to raise awareness among parents about monitoring children’s mobile phone use and protecting them from harmful online content. Khan warned that action could also be taken against parents who knowingly fail to report offences involving their children.
Other NCCIA officials said the cybercrime complaints helpline 1799 is operational for reporting suspected online offences.
