Bid to smuggle 39kg heroin from Afghanistan foiled
CHITRAL: Chitral Scouts seized 39 kilogrammes of heroin being smuggled from Badakhshan area of Afghanistan here on Wednesday.
Sources said during a routine checking at Zedik checkpost, the high quality heroin was recovered concealed in the luggage of three persons belonging to Garam Chashma. The alleged smugglers were also arrested.
The arrested persons were identified as Afzal Aman, Salahuddin and Sahib Nadir, who entered Chitral via Shah Salim Pass.
Seizure of such a large quantity of heroin is said to be the first incident of its nature in the district.–Zahiruddin
