CHITRAL: None of the four doctors, transferred from different public sector hospitals in Peshawar on January 10 this year, has reported to tehsil headquarters hospital Drosh, according to sources.
The competent authority had hastened to order the transfer of the doctors belonging to Chitral to quell protests by the local people against the shortage of lady doctors in the hospital for the last one year.
The doctors included Dr Zahida Parveen, Dr Syeda Nargis Parveen, Dr Haroon Mustafa and Dr Azmat Wali Shah.
Sources said that the transfer orders were not cancelled or withdrawn by the competent authority while no action was initiated against the recalcitrant public servants, who defied the orders for long.
He said the people of Drosh would take to streets and go to any extent of protest to force the government to resolve the issues of shortage of doctors and diagnostic facilities in the hospital.–Zahiruddin
