PESHAWAR: MPA Wazirzada from the Kalash valley of Chitral has been made special assistant to the chief minister KP on minorities’ affairs.
The post will have the status of a provincial minister. The workers of PTI Chitral on Saturday welcomed the decision of the provincial government.
Wazirzada was made MPA on a reserved seat of minorities by the PTI after it on the 2018 elections. He belongs to the Kalash community of Chitral and has been active in getting funds allocated for a number of projects in Chitral.
Initially, the elected MNA and MPA of Chitral belonging to the MMA raised objections to government’s move of allocating funds for Chitral through the reserved seat MPA.
However, Wazirzada seems succeeding in his efforts to pacify the two lawmakers and was even appointed as chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC).
