CHITRAL: The district administration of Lower Chitral on Sunday launched a plantation drive in connection with the PTI government’s “Plant 4 Pakistan campaign.”
The drive was launched with plantation of saplings in Osama Shaheed Park near Denin. MNA Molana Abdul Akbar, MPA Wazirzada Kalash and Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Naveed Ahmed were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the elected representatives and government officials stressed the importance of planting more trees to make the government plan a success.
The “Plant 4 Pakistan” drive is part of this year’s national monsoon plantation drive to plant 140 million saplings across the country under the ambitious 10 billion tree plantation target of the government.
So far this year, the federal government has approved over Rs7 billion for the national plantation project.
