PTI leaders set up hunger strike camp

ISLAMABAD: PTI leaders on Tuesday set up a hunger strike camp outside Parliament House in Islamabad against what they said injustices with the party. The hunger strike would continue till 8pm every day.

The hunger strike camp was set up after PTI leaders, including Chairman Gohar Ali Khan, Asad Qaiser and Ali Muhammad Khan, met National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and informed him of their grievances.

Talking to media at the camp, the PTI leaders said they had serious reservations about what was being done against the party. They were in support of supremacy of the constitution, but illegal and unconstitutional steps were being taken against the PTI which was not good for democracy and rule of law in the country.

The PTI leaders said their reservations included the presence of ‘strangers’ in parliament. They said they would hold their hunger strike till 8pm every day to highlight their grievances. “The main objective of our protest is to end injustices and illegal actions against the PTI and release of former prime minister and party founder Imran Khan from jail, they added.
