Attempt to smuggle cattle foiled

CHITRAL: On the direction of the district administration of Lower Chitral, an attempt to smuggle cattle out of the district was foiled at Baradam checkpost near the Lowari tunnel.

In a statement, the DC office said that the security personnel after being alerted by Levies intelligence in Drosh took action against the persons involved in smuggling of cattle. The vehecle along with the driver was handed over to the police for legal action.

The DC office said that in order to avoid shortage of meat in Ramazan, a ban had been imposed on taking cattle out of Chitral. In this regard, Section 144 has also been impsoed.
