Zargaran Deh residents start getting water from CDLD scheme

CHITRAL: A project to supply drinking water to Zargaran Deh in Chitral town was on Friday inaugurated after its completion at a cost of Rs1 million.

The project was launched under the Community Driven Local Development (CDLD) programme of the KP government which is funded by the European Union (EU).

An amount of Rs0.5 million was provided for the project by the neighbourhood council of Zargaran Deh.

Chitral Tehsil Nazim Molana Muhammad Ilyas and Naib Nazim Hayatullah Khan and notables of the area were present to open the water supply.

Speaking on the occasion, Neighbourhood Council Nazim Manzoor Ahmed Advocate said due to rapid increase in the local population the water shortage issue had become severe in Zargaran Deh.

He said the tehsil administration and the CDLD project officials took keen interest in resolving the issue and worked seven-day-a-week to complete the project. He asked the consumers not to waste water and use it judiciously.
