Sifat Ghazi used to say that the Chitralis valiantly fought against the enemy to liberate the area after living in caves for weeks without food till the Dogra army was forced to retreat. The deceased is survived by his sons Alwaiz Haibat Ali, Engineer Muhammad Wali, nephews Haji Amwakht Ali, village council naib nazim Eid Ali and retired AC Zarmast Ali.
