PESHAWAR, Sept 29: Two Chitralis also lost their lives in the bomb blasts at Qissa Khwani Bazaar in Peshawar on Sunday.

They have been identified as Nasirullah, son of Nadir Khan, a native of Rayeen, Torkhow, and Azizuddin, son of Gamburi Shah, of Shainagar, Drosh.

Reports said Azizuddin, a Chitral Scouts personnel, had gone to the bazaar on an official duty when the blasts occurred.

Around 40 people were killed and over 10o injured when the busy market was rocked by two successive bomb blast at around 11am. A large number of Chitralis also own shops in the busy market.

The bodies have been dispatched to Chitral from the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. It is very unfortunate that the people of Chitral, a peaceful area, who live in different parts of the country in search of livelihoods and education have been victims of terrorist attacks since over three decades when Imran, a rising star of journalism, was killed in a bus bomb explosion in Mingora in 1987.

Two young Chitralis were also killed in the Islamabad Marriott hotel explosion in 2008 while four Chitrali passengers were hauled off from a bus and brutally killed on the Chitral-Peshawar road near Dir a few years back. Besides, scores of Chitralis working in the army, Chitral Scouts and police have also sacrificed their lives while fighting the militants.
