NADRA Introduces Free Iris Scan Service

Staff Reporter

Islamabad, July 26, 2026: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a free iris scan service at all of its registration centers nationwide to enhance the security of citizens’ identity records and strengthen biometric verification.

NADRA has urged all citizens to visit their nearest registration office and take advantage of the service, which is available free of charge.

What is the Iris Scan Service?

The iris scan system uses a person’s iris (the colored part of the eye) as a biometric identifier to verify identity. The technology is designed to improve the accuracy and security of identity verification while providing stronger protection against identity fraud.

According to NADRA, the service is now available at all NADRA offices across Pakistan.

The authority has also encouraged parents to bring children aged three years and older to NADRA offices so they can have their iris data registered as part of their biometric records.

NADRA said the initiative aims to make biometric identification more secure and reliable, helping safeguard citizens’ personal information while making future identity verification processes faster, safer, and more efficient.

The authority has appealed to the public to take advantage of the free service promptly to ensure their biometric records remain up to date and better protected.
