Locals Raise Key Issues at DPO’s Open Court in Garam Chashma

Chitral: Residents of Garam Chashma placed a range of public concerns before District Police Officer (DPO) Lower Chitral Resham Jahangir during an open court held in the area.

They sought effective measures for resolving issues affecting daily life, public safety, and community welfare.

During the session, participants highlighted several pressing issues faced by the people of Garam Chashma and surrounding areas. They raised concerns regarding the maintenance of law and order, increasing challenges related to drug abuse and the need for stronger action against drug dealers.

The participants stressed that the elimination of narcotics was essential for protecting the younger generation and maintaining a peaceful social environment.

The locals also drew attention to traffic-related problems in the area, calling for better management and enforcement of traffic regulations to ensure public safety. Issues concerning border security were also discussed, with participants emphasizing the importance of effective security measures and coordination to address challenges in the border region.

Apart from security-related matters, residents shared various other public issues and offered suggestions aimed at improving policing services and strengthening cooperation between the police and the community.

They urged authorities to continue engaging with local communities and take practical steps for resolving problems at the grassroots level.

DPO Resham Jahangir listened carefully to the concerns, complaints and suggestions presented by the participants. She issued directions to the concerned officers for taking necessary action and assured the gathering that legitimate public issues would be addressed on a priority basis.

Addressing the participants, the DPO said that the relationship between police and citizens was based on trust, cooperation, and mutual understanding. She stated that effective community participation was vital for maintaining lasting peace and improving the overall security environment.

She further said that Lower Chitral Police would continue its efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens, ensure implementation of the law, and take strict measures against criminal activities, including drug-related offences.

The residents appreciated the initiative of holding an open court in Garam Chashma, describing it as an important opportunity for direct communication with senior police officials.
