Chitral, July 25, 2026: Authorities in Chitral have stepped up efforts to curb the illegal use of controlled medicines, warning that violators of drug regulations will face strict legal action.

Speaking at an awareness seminar jointly organized by the Chitral Pharma Distributors Council (CPDC) and the Pakistan Chemists and Druggists Association (PCDA), Chitral, Drug Inspector Dr. Naimatullah said the misuse of controlled medicines poses a serious threat to public health and human lives.

He urged pharmacists and drug sellers to ensure that controlled and narcotic medicines are dispensed only against a valid prescription issued by a registered medical practitioner.

He warned that anyone found violating the law would face strict legal action without discrimination.

The seminar was attended by a large number of pharmaceutical distributors and chemists from Chitral town, Garam Chashma, Ayun, and surrounding areas.

CPDC President Fakhar Alam, PCDA representative Rehmat Elahi, and other office-bearers and community representatives also participated.

At the conclusion of the seminar, participants held an awareness walk from the Town Hall to the Chitral Press Club, carrying banners and placards highlighting the dangers of drug abuse and the misuse of controlled medicines.

The walk aimed to promote public awareness about responsible use of prescription drugs and the fight against substance abuse.
