Doctors in Peshawar rally demanding raise in their salaries in upcoming budget 2026.

KP Doctors Demand 100% Pay Raise, Warn of Strike

Peshawar, June 4, 2026: Doctors in KP have demanded a 100% increase in salaries, warning of a province-wide shutdown of hospital services if their demands are not met within two weeks.

The announcement was made by the Provincial Doctors Association at a press conference, following a protest outside the press club on Thursday.

The protesting doctors said that if the government fails to raise salaries in line with inflation, they will first suspend services at divisional headquarters hospitals and later expand the strike to all public hospitals across the province.

Association leaders stated that doctors’ salaries have remained unchanged since 2016 despite rising inflation. They also accused authorities of political interference, corruption and violations of merit, calling for transparent recruitment processes.

The doctors also highlighted delayed promotions, heavy taxation and unpaid salaries for contract-based staff as major concerns. They urged the provincial government to address these issues before the upcoming budget to prevent disruption in healthcare services.

The protest ended with a rally on GT Road, where participants chanted slogans and reiterated their demands for immediate action.
