Chitral, April 24, 2026: The issue of contaminated drinking water in Zargaran Deh has been resolved after authorities disconnected illegal water connections and a mixing line.
According to officials, clean and safe drinking water was being supplied under the Angarghoon Water Supply Scheme. However, illegal local connections to the main supply line by some individuals had posed a risk to water quality.
A technical team identified one such illegal connection in Zargaran Deh and took immediate action by disconnecting the local line, preventing further contamination.
Sources said that a pipeline carrying water from Chitral Gol stream had mixed with the main clean water line, causing muddy water supply in the area. The issue was promptly identified and fixed, restoring normal conditions.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate in protecting this vital resource and avoid illegal connections to ensure uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water.
