Booni, April 9, 2026: A court in Booni has quashed three cases registered against leaders and elders of the Torkhow Terich Road Forum (TTRF) following their reconciliation with the district administration and police of Upper Chitral.

The hearing was held on Wednesday, where the public prosecutor, government lawyer, District Police Officer (DPO), Additional Deputy Commissioner, and complainants appeared before the civil judge. They informed the court that an agreement had been reached between the administration, police, and the accused.

Subsequently, the court ordered the dismissal of all cases and acquitted the TTRF leaders, according to a statement by the TTRF.

In the statement, TTRF termed the decision a proof of their stance, expressing gratitude to Allah. The forum also thanked the people of Torkhow Terich Union Council for their steadfast support during the struggle, despite facing baton charges, legal cases and other hardships.

The forum acknowledged the support of political leaders, including PPP leader Senator Talha Mahmood, for standing with the community and contributing to road development and legal relief efforts.

TTRF also expressed appreciation to officials of the district administration and police, including the DIG Malakand and other officers, for their role in resolving the matter and restoring mutual understanding.

Reaffirming its commitment, TTRF stated that it will continue to raise its voice for public rights, improved facilities, and transparency, and against corruption in public funds.

The cases had been registered after the TTRF launched protests over delayed and poor construction of the road to the area.
