Booni, April 9, 2026: Upper Chitral police have said that they continue a crackdown on drug trafficking across the district.
“In a series of successful operations, SDPO Mastuj Akbar Shah supervised teams led by SHO Yarkhun Lasht Muhammad Ajmal Khan and other police personnel. Multiple suspects were apprehended, and significant quantities of illegal drugs were recovered,” said the police in a statement.
During raids, the police seized 434 grams of charas and 204 grams of opium from Rizwan Ali, son of Wali Baig, a resident of Chikar Broghil.
Additional recoveries included 155 grams and 50 grams of charas from Shahabuddin, son of Muhammad Khan, of Zhupu, and Zar Wali, son of Khush Khan, of Darband, respectively.
All suspects have been booked under the KP CNSA Act, and further investigations are underway.
